The First Gameplay Teaser of the New MMO World of Warplanes

By Arif Aksit on March 7, 2012 9:30 AM | Permalink |

A long time ago, before technology took over nearly everything, there was a time when people took to the skies in aircraft less advanced than your humble car right now. And they had dogfights with mounted guns, chased each other through the skies and performed all manner of aerial acrobatics. Of course, there is the grim cost of death if you make the tiniest mistake, but with World of Warplanes there is no cost! The game is free to play and will let you get airborne with a simple registration.

World of Warplanes is the next project of game developer Wargaming.net, who previously made the extremely popular World of Tanks. The developers have released the first gameplay teaser of World of Warplanes online and we have the video right above.

The alpha of this game is currently ongoing and you can register to participate on their site.

Thumbnail image for amd.jpg Yesterday, AMD introduced the new HD78xx series of video cards. The new cards, the HD7870 and the HD7850, are designed to replace the old 68xx series of cards and to compete against Nvidia's offerings of the GTX 570 and 560 TI, which are the direct competitors at this moment. The 78xx series of cards are usually among the most interesting for gamers, as they tend to deliver the most bang for the buck. After the launch of these cards, most of the rumored 7xxx line-up is complete saving just the very high-end dual chip 7990.

However how does this new series perform? I've gathered a bunch of the reviews published online so far to give you an initial impression.
