So, after last week's crazy 360 mod, I bring you another case mod. Again, with a Gears of War theme, but this one is more elegantly done and not so over-the-top.
Modder spectraz over on the Xbox-Scene.com forums claims this is his first case mod, but looking at it, you certainly would not have guessed this, seeing as it looks like a top notch professional job. Hit the jump for more images.

The character we all know and love just doesn't want to die, and why wouldn't he?
In the announcement for Fable 2's release date; Lionhead Studios showed off the collector's edition of the game, along with lots of lovely screenshots and among them was the beauty that you behold at the top of this post. Not much else is revealed about this ye olde variant of the chief, so until we play through the game we'll just have to guess. Is he a playable character? Is he an NPC? Is he just sporting a set of clothes which you have to buy and wear all together? Will he even be in the game at all? We'll just have to wait and see.

Ever put a game like Super Mario Bros. in front of your “open-minded” parents or grandparents, and actually watch them get excited while playing? How about the look of a child playing a game, with his tongue hanging out a smile on his face? All of them with that look of “Oh, I gotta jump or I'm in for it!” as they may physically lift the controller while pressing the 'A' button to jump. Then once they surpass the Goomba, they continue to walk through the level because they're unaware that holding the 'B' button makes Mario run. Do you remember when you were that way? Think back to before you were an over experienced, game junkie. Can you? Well if not, I have a game here that may jog your memory a little, and give you that excitement you may have forgotten.

Hopefulls on Sony's side have been talking about the possibility of Left 4 Dead, A Zombie shoot'em'up from Valve, the makers of the Half Life series, visiting their system, the PS3, when it makes it's rounds on the PC and Xbox 360. Well the itch was too much for IGN who used their godly press powers to get into contact with Doug Lombardi of the Valve production team to ask wheather the rumor was true. And the answer? NO! Well, his actual words were "there is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production." but enlarged bolded capital letters are much more interesting.
With this being said, Lombardi did not completely dismiss the possibility that the game will eventually be avaliable for the big black spiderman console as Valve have already distanced themselves from PS3 development before with the Orange Box, leaving it to EA for develop. Maybe we shall see it released under the EA banner instead.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein probably goes down as one of the hallmark games in the last 10 years within the PC format, bringing not only excellent gameplay, but also spawning one of the greatest multiplayer games in recent times with the Enemy Territory spin-off.
Raven Software are behind the latest installment in the long going series, with the new game planned for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and of course, the PC. The latest trailer from QuakeCon promises to deliver more Nazi-killing goodness that have long been the trademark of the series, just alongside a lightning gun and seemingly exploding Nazis. This is a game worth watching.
skate., EA's venture into the skating realm again after almost 10 years since their last PS1 flop, returns in full force bringing everything that people loved in the original game, and then simply tweaking it instead of trying to build a totally new game again. Fluid gameplay, mixed in with excellent controls and a large almost seamless city made the game an instant favorite despite any of the major flaws it had. But a quick look at this new trailer for skate.2 takes all those flaws, and throws them out of the window.
Black Box seems to have taken everything great about the original as well as all the negatives, and tweaked it to almost perfection. Handplants, boneless, and getting off your board to walk around the city and move objects around, as well as tweaking some minor controls looks to make this another winner.
Tony Hawk, watch your back. Again.

With the industry raving about how the PlayStation 3 is going to be the next king of all-in-one home entertainment units, it's easy for some of us to overlook one of the long-standing leaders of the field: the Sega CD. The Sega CD has been the gold standard for how to put together a multimedia system for many years now, but I'm sure most of you are asking, “Is PS3 really worth the upgrade, or is all the hype behind it kind of baseless?” Well folks, today we will objectively examine the two in our very first Grudge Match.

Metroid, a series which dates back to the NES times and still manages to capture gamers all around the globe with its unique gameplay. It is only fair for a series with such a legacy to be featured in the first flashback to the retro era. Today I am presenting you the first out of two parts featuring the original Metroid, Metroid 2: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime. Click the image below to get started!
If you have not read it already, then click here to read the original article. I have taken the time to prepare three charts which did not make it into the original article which illustrate my point about the real lack of exclusivity.

In my country, nerds don’t have their own unique accent. They also don’t get their knickers in a twist about subjects they haven’t fully researched. I am referring to a Youtube video which popped up in the last month and was brought to my attention in a chat room which I regularly attend. Along with this, I was shown a post from the GameFAQs message board (in image form here) which follows a similar theme but from a [probably self diagnosed] aspergers syndrome sufferer who, rather disturbingly, describes his life as a parallel to the Final Fantasy series. I’ll be focusing more on the Youtube video for this piece.
